Why TCRC is so Important for Testicular Cancer Patients and Survivors

Posted by aelling

Now after two years, I have had a little time to reflect on my cancer experience and I have realized how important it is to communicate with others who have had the same experiences. To that extent, I am very grateful for the community at the TC-NET list serve and all the advice Doug Bank, Nick O'Hara Smith, and Mark Kantrowitz give on a daily basis along with the hundreds of other list serve members who share their thoughts and experiences. After I had gone through surgery and chemotherapy I was left with a lot of questions about by body, my emotional state, and about my life after TC. Even though I joined the TC-NET list serve a few weeks after I had finished chemotherapy I did not respond to any posts or ask any questions for at least a few months even though I had a lot of fears and questions I could have asked. Reading the posts of others and seeing others with the same concerns and fears helped me gain a control on my emotions and begin regain a sense of hope and purpose. I urge all TC patients and survivors to join the TCRC listserve http://tcrc.acor.org/tc-net.html and to check out all the information at http://tcrc.acor.org/ .
